the Historical Dapitan

Dapitan, officially the City of Dapitan, is a third-class city in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines.

At the Disembarkation monument of Dr. Jose Rizal.
This is exact place where Dr. Jose Rizal first step in the remote town of Dapitan.

At St. James the Great Cathedral. Where Dr. Jose Rizal hear Mass every Sunday.
Right in front of the Cathedral (see that bermuda grass behind where I stood?) is the huge map of the entire Mindanao. The Cathedral was built with so much details. from its ceilings, walls and to its floors. As far as I am concerned, there is no Cathedral that is built without its own story. :)

This cross monument is across the disembarkation site of Dr. Jose Rizal. I call this my own as the " Dakong Krus" or " Giant Cross".

Dr. Jose Rizal is a member of the prestigious fraternity of the free and Accepted Masons. I'am a Job's Daughter so, I think there is an obligatory pose for me beside this land mark (HAHA). This land mark was built in commemoration of him being a member of the said fraternity. :)

Visiting Dapitan City is not complete without going to its amusement/themed park and Dakak Beach Resort. The Gloria de Dapitan. You can experience all the rides UNLIMITED! and watch the theater arts play for FREE! isn't it amazing?

We stayed at the Dakak Beach Resort for three days and two nights. Our stay was awesomely a two thumbs up!

I realized, traveling 8 hours including stop overs from my hometown (Iligan City) to Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte is FUN. As for myself, the three days and two nights stay in Dapitan is not enough because of the fun filled experiences!

TWO THUMBS UP for DAPITAN!

Hanging interesting historical stories...

Change

Time circles by so fast that I wanna rewind.
Going back to the memories that we left behind.
As I write this blog of mine, please spare me my tears because you are always in my mind.
To the times we spent together, how happy I am to say that my life did get so much better.

I know we are not the typical one in our relationship. I honestly hate you for being so strict. I hate you for being so high in putting standards. I know that you know that I cannot reach your dream. I am sorry, for I wasn't able to set your light on a high beam.

As the nights passes by, If only I can change. But, I know I cannot change the days, weeks, months and years just as the nights changes. I can never change.

Now that you're gone, I thought It'l be all done. I thought I'd be happy. I thought I'd be glad. But, nah! I honestly envy the people who hugs, comforts and bonds with their main woman.

I thank you for spending your little time with me. Because I know, someday,  I will be free.

MOTHER

The one who carried us in her womb for nine (9) long months and experienced labor pains.
The one who sleeps late at night just to feed and make our stomach full.
The one who will love you unconditionally
The person who will love you abundantly.
The one who changes our dirty diapers and wet pants.
The one who gives our needs and wants.
The commander-in-chief at home with all the rants.
Ordinary in our sight
Extraordinary deep inside.
Countless moments to share
Not a single moment to spare.

I thank the Lord for giving me a wonderful woman in my life, even if I always give her a sigh.

I have a mother in heaven.
From the smallest to the largest dime, if only I could turn back time. How I'd love to take all the risk just to grant my wish.

To be in her arms once again.

#JobieLife

Hi! here I am again creating another blog about the other side of me :)

Have you heard about Masonic Youth? A group of girls ages 9-20 years young? Has the interest of making oneself good in public speaking, leadership, doing charity works, helping other girls to achieve their goals, and oh! Have you heard of making a girl into a beautiful and graciously mannered lady? Now, have you heard about Job's Daughters Int'l? Yes, Job's Daughters Int'l!

Job's Daughters Int'l or JDI is an organization for young women ages 9-20 years young. This organization transforms young girls from a discreet one to a loud but graciously mannered young lady. :)

Again, hi! I am a Jobie! a Daughter of Job. I live my life from a verse in the book of Job that says " In all the land where no women found so fair as the Daughters of Job and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren".

Becoming a Jobie : I started my Jobie life way back February 2, 2013 where my batch mates(Diamonds) and I got oriented from the said organization. From that day, I together with my mates showed our interest in joining the organization. We then petitioned for membership :) during "pet" days, (the best days in our becoming a Jobie life) we don't just petition ourselves just for membership but, we(our batch) look after everyone every step of the way towards becoming a jobie. A lot of sweet experiences and cries, hardships, laughters and sorrows come across along the way but those experiences made our bond go thicker and stronger.

March 2, 2013 is the day where my mates and I are officially a daughter/member of the beautiful Order.

March 17, 2013 when I was installed as a bethel officer for the first time taking the position as the recorder.

December 1, 2014 where I was installed/inducted as the Senior Princess in our Bethel (my first time to serve in the East).

July 27, 2014 where I was installed the Honored Queen of this beautiful Order. Being the Honored Queen is not an easy task. You have to balance everything. From your academics to your extra curricular activities. but thanks to the Great Architect Of The Universe, i surpassed everything with my feet still standing on the ground. :)

My first stated meeting as the newly installed Honored Queen. Up to

My last stated meeting for term B 2014!

from humble beginnings comes a great success in the end!

Iligan, Mabuhay!

Hi! I am a newbie in this profession or let’s just say hobby. Here, let me take you to where I started. I was inspired by the photos I searched here in the web. First was food. So I thought of blogging every food that is worth posting. but then I guess, food is too mainstream for us especially we, Filipinos love eating J so I searched again to what’s worth to blog for. And so, I was scanning my instagram acct. and there’s this one basketball athlete from a known university here in the Philippines who posted a 15 second video about what he is doing in class. But, that’s not the one that caught my attention. It was his background music which had a lyrics that says “ tara na biyahe tayo, kilalanin ang kapwa natin Pilipino”  after I have heard such, I then typed the lyrics in Youtube to know its title. It was then Tara na! biyahe tayo sa Pilipinas. A soundtrack sung by various artists way back in the year 2012 in cooperation with the national tourism department of the Philippines which had its tag line WOW PHILIPPINES. I then thought of how about if I put into blog the places where I visited including to where I and my ancestors came from since now, it’s also summer here in our country. So here it is

Iligan City. Also known as the City of  Majestic Waterfalls. Iligan is a highly urbanized city in the Northern Mindanao region, Philippines. It is geographically within the province of Lanao del Norte but administered independently from the province. Iligan is the place where my ancestors and I came from. I was born and raised in this beautiful city!

Here’s a picture of me with my squad. At our back is the Macaraeg-Macapagal ancestral house. The ancestral house of the former president of The Republic of the Philippines. Now the Congresswoman of Pampangga, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

At one of the famous pools in Timoga. Dela Mar Resort and swimming pool.

BTW, the water in the pool is flowing and freezing cold.

The Famous Maria Cristina Falls of Iligan City. It is said that if you are a tourist here in Iligan city, the very first destination you will visit is the Maria Cristina Falls.

Next to Maria Cristina Falls is the Mimbalot Falls located at the southern part of iligan city.

The enchanting Tinago Falls!

Above where the three falls mentioned. They are also known as the Triad falls of Iligan City.

There are allot of waterfalls here in our city. But the three above mentioned were the first tourists' destinations.

My friends and I loves adventure. This is in Bayug island. We rode a banka-banka to cross from the island to one of the subdivisions here in the city. But, it saddened me that this experience will be my 1st and last. Since the place is now devastated by the typhoon (Sendong).

The famous mountain of Iligan city. Mt. Agad-Agad. Look how steep the road to summit is. But, many of the people in Iligan had already climbed this mountain. May it be married, single, young and old.

There are many beautiful places here in Iligan City that are worth visiting for! I have visited many beautiful spots here in our place but, too bad I do not have any picture of it. Now, it’s for you to find out! So come and discover the city of Majestic Waterfalls!

ILIGAN, amung ciudad MABUHAY!

The Beauty of Siquijor

Aswang, Kulam, etc? These words are for the ignorant minds. Siquijor is the place where white sands, delicious seafood meals and great sceneries  are found. Its antiquity are well preserved and its generous and hospitable people who lived in makes the place more worth visiting for. :)

Welcome to Siquijor!
at the Back is the St. Francis of Assisi Church. located at Siquijor, Siquijor. The very first church you will see upon arriving in the Island of Siquijor from the Dumaguete pier.

Inside the St. Francis of Assisi Church. as what I have said earlier, the antiquity of such place are so well preserved. from the Spanish era up to the present.

The Famous Bell Tower of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Up until now, this Bell tower is still in good use. but only the ministers of the said church can go inside.

At San Isidro Labrador Parish Church. Located at Lazi, Siquijor. this church is the oldest church in the entire island of Siquijor.
I was not able to go inside and see what beauty awaits. But, they said that the things that are in use in this church while having a mass is that of the things that are used way back the Spanish era. the long tables, chalice etc.

I have been  to many places in the island. The Mount Bandilaan Eco Park where the locals of the island will climb up for a PANATA during the Holy Week specifically on Holy Thursdays. They call it TUNGAS a local term for climb. The Oldest Balite Tree with its fish spa along with it, The San Juan Spring Park where you can swim all day long for free etc. sad to say my pictures from the above mentioned places were missing.

You CAN tour the whole island for a short span of time. but you CANNOT leave each place with just on click of the camera. :)

So come, visit  and see the beautiful Island of Siquijor!
